Fibrus Press Release:
Junior Cross Country Series set to produce some Hyperfast Performances
East Coast Athletic Club (ECAC), based in the County Antrim town of Larne is bringing back their popular junior cross-country series with the support of full fibre broadband provider, Fibrus. After a break due to the covid pandemic the return is a welcome sight for the growing junior running scene.
The series which is open to children born between 2005 and 2018, will be run over 3 separate weekends beginning on 30th January at Larne Grammar School and will welcome athletes from across the province.
Speaking at the launch of the series, ECAC Chairman Justin Maxwell said: “As a club we continue to promote the local junior running scene by delivering weekly training sessions, encouraging support at other events and by working with stakeholders such as Fibrus, local schools and Mid and East Antrim Borough Council to promote an active lifestyle in our young people.
The support from Fibrus in our 2022 event in invaluable. Without it we would be unable to organise events such as our Junior Cross Country Series and our kids would miss the opportunity to experience cross country running in a safe environment.”
Jemma Dougherty, PR and Communications Specialist at Fibrus added:
“Digital connectivity is an essential part of the everyday lives of young people now and a hyperfast full fibre broadband connection enables them to home school in real time, game without the lag time and watching movies without buffering but at Fibrus we know life is about balance.
“The team at East Coast Athletic Club have done some fantastic work with their junior section, ensuring they have down time away from screens and promoting positive mental & physical health. As a result, the Junior Cross Country Series has produced some hyperfast athletes, and we are delighted to support such a positive event.”
Clubmark accredited East Coast Athletic Club, which was founded in June 2013, is an all-inclusive, all ability, running club based in the Borough of Larne but drawing membership from the wider coastal East Antrim area, and beyond.
